ScanSnap crosses the milestone of six million devices sold and celebrates its 20th anniversary

ScanSnap crosses the milestone of six million devices sold and celebrates its 20th anniversary. On this occasion, the brand is announcing a new promotional offer: a free 12-month subscription to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC for the purchase of a ScanSnap iX1600 until the end of July. The subscription is also offered with the purchase of a ScanSnap iX1400 and this time valid until September 30.

Paris, July 6, 2021 – PFU (EMEA) Limited today celebrates 20 years of its ScanSnap brand, of which six million devices have been sold worldwide. Launched in 2001, ScanSnap devices were designed to deliver a smarter way of working through simple, intuitive technology. Easy, one-button scanning allows business and home users to quickly digitize documents and improve their personal productivity.

The very first model, the ScanSnap fi-411EOX, was first released to the market in July 2001. Since then, more than 20 generations of devices have been developed, ranging from the ScanSnap SV600, which allows overhead scanning and contactless for books, magazines and artwork, to the ultimate in personal productivity, the ScanSnap iX1600.

“We have seen many developments over the past 20 years, in the new technology sector but also in the business world,” comments Hiroaki Kashiwagi, CEO of PFU (EMEA) Limited. “Our use of paper, both at the business and personal level, has also evolved over time. We have seen traditional filing systems being replaced by cloud services. Nonetheless, the need to capture and digitize information has remained constant, from scanning business cards to processing invoices to digitizing works of art. »

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, ScanSnap has created a limited edition of the ScanSnap iX1600, of which only 22 units are available worldwide. This model is made using the historic gold leaf gilding techniques of Kanazawa. This traditional Japanese craft was developed over 450 years ago in the city of Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, where the ScanSnap brand was founded. The specially designed foil covers represent the four seasons, reflecting ScanSnap's commitment to providing regular support to its customers as their needs evolve.

To mark 20 years of supporting users in their digital transformation, PFU (EMEA) will offer a number of exclusive special edition ScanSnap iX1600 “Kanazawa” models.
